Research reveals users' preferences and customs on search engines - the company Internet Retailer has published a detailed research about the profile of search engine visitors and buyers. The survey has found for instance that men rather than women tend to use Google in their searches, while women prefer Yahoo, Ask Jeeves, MSN and others.

Significant information shows that users are 42% more likely to make online purchases when visiting Google whereas site visitors. Google is also of preference in more complex and specific searches, while portal sites (MSN, Yahoo and so) are being employed for broader search terms.
